Explore the Voice Inside
There is a subtle yet persistent voice within you. It whispers of unfinished dreams and long-suppressed truths. You hear it in moments of stillness, but you often silence it with the noise of daily life. This voice is not just a stray thought; it is the compass of your authentic self, trying to guide you toward something deeply meaningful.
Why have you ignored it? Fear of change? Doubts about your ability to act? Or perhaps you’ve been conditioned to prioritize external expectations over internal desires. But consider this: the regret of not listening now could weigh heavier than the effort it takes to hear and act upon it. Imagine yourself at the end of your life, haunted by the words you never let your inner voice fully articulate. That’s the cost of inaction.
Today, dare to get curious. What is this voice asking of you? What unfinished business or neglected passion demands your attention? This voice is not your enemy; it’s a vital part of you, calling you to align with your true purpose. Don’t push it away. Instead, invite it in and let it reshape your vision.
My Inner Voice
After my CIO role was eliminated in December 2022, I paused and reflected on feelings and topics I had suppressed for years but remained curious about. I asked myself a guiding question: When I am on my deathbed, what would I regret not doing at this point in life? The answer led me to enroll in a leadership coaching program to learn and practice the craft for a year. Over many months, I evolved and expanded my identity through coaching expertise. The program was life-changing. I not only learned how to coach leaders and professionals in the tech space, but I also became a better communicator. This transformation extended into my role as a parent, where I began using questioning techniques that enabled my kids to make their own decisions.
I discovered that engaging with my inner voice allowed me to grow in transformative ways. In the past, I feared that listening to it might lead to overwhelming or dramatic change. And while change is sometimes inevitable, I found that it ultimately deepened my self-trust and reaffirmed my commitment to curiosity—one of my core values.
Daily Inner Quest
Today, sit in silence for 10 minutes and ask yourself: What is this voice within me trying to say? Write down whatever comes to mind without judgment. Reflect on how this message connects to your current direction in life. Commit to one small action that integrates this calling into your vision—a step toward becoming the person your inner voice knows you can be.
